Hectic Week
May 12th, 2010 Posted 11:01 am
This week has been very hectic. I’m stuffing everything I normally do into a couple of days. This weekend, I’m heading off to South Carolina to volunteer at the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. I heard it is a very inspiring event, so, I’m looking forward to being there and to experience everything.
I had an awesome weekend of World of Warcraft last weekend. Sometimes, I just let things go and sit down and play a while. That was definitely a lot of fun. Hopefully when I get back, I can make things a little less hectic here and there and have more time to delve into a few achievements. Last weekend, we did the Vault bosses. That was pretty cool, as, I had not seen one or two of them. Totally worth the couple minutes for those achievements. If you haven’t had a chance to do them, check them out!

Not Much Going On
May 1st, 2010 Posted 12:47 pm
This weekend, it is a quieter weekend. It’s the kind of weekend that came at the right time. Last night, I didn’t do much but some World of Warcraft dailies and leveling my priest to 23. I ended up spending much more of the evening drinking coffee, talking with friends, and watching the beginning of the Wolverine movie. I had never seen this and just realized Ryan Reynolds is in this movie. I love Ryan Reynolds.
As for the rest of the day, I think I’m going to pick up an Xbox game and go balls to the wall on it. I haven’t decided what I might play just yet.

Fishing Extravaganza
April 28th, 2010 Posted 12:28 pm
Last night, we held a guild fishing even to increase our fish feast supplies. For the thirty minutes we stood in Wintergrasp, it was a really fun time. It was so inane. And we did silly things like stand on top of each other, bring out pets, and eventually ran Wintergrasp when it started. Blizzard takes a lot of criticism for not being “hard core”, however, my favorite moments (even raiding) have had nothing to do with being hard core. What it has come down to is doing it together and I’m happy that they’ve encouraged and made it easier for my friends and I to do just that.

Not a Well Day
April 27th, 2010 Posted 10:07 am
I might have caught a little virus or something, as, I have not been feeling all that great. It’s just a general crappy feeling, but by evening I have just been so worn out I can’t function. Hopefully, I can get enough sleep to make that go away. So, instead, I had a quiet evening of catching up on Lost with my husband. Though it took my gimpy self the whole night, I leveled my Death Knight, Leukocyte, to level 62! I admit that I face roll my Death Knight and the mechanic as created in Wrath seems to elude me. I just press all the buttons in order on my bar. From reading the Death Knight changes for Cataclysm, it sounds like they will make them less a frantic button mashing class. It is true that you pretty much have to manage just so many cool downs and I think that many people can play a Death Knight but not as many can play one well.
Today, as well, they announced the badge changes in World of Warcraft. Yesterday, I was elated and stunned to find that they were making the loot tables the same for 10-man and 25-man raiding. Then, this morning, I was surprised to find that they had also altered the badge system into two simple tiers of points. A Low-Tier, like Triumph Badges, will offer unlimited badges through things like heroic dungeons. A High-Tier of badges will be limited offerings through raids, daily random dungeons, and weekly dungeons. What is more exciting is that they seem to be aiming a restriction at how many you can earn a week which seems to be taking the pressure of raiding, running a random dungeon every day, and running a weekly raid to remain competitive. While these bits of news may not be what everyone is looking for in World of Warcraft, I welcome the changes.

Weekend of XP
April 26th, 2010 Posted 11:26 am
This weekend, I played a lot of World of Warcraft. I leveled my Alliance Fire Mage to 20 and then went on to level my druid to 79 and my Enhancement Shaman to 69. I like leveling from the fact that I like watching the characters get new skills and how they use them. I’ve seen the content before, but, I still find it relaxing to sit down and roll through it on someone new. Even though it’s old, taking a melee instead of a caster can make it feel different and new. Mewmoo will be my fifth level 80. I know that sounds crazy, but, leveling fits a certain OCD where you just keep going +1 for a while until you win bacon. As such, I seem to have a knack for painlessly grinding up characters.
We finally got some binders, so, I can get our magic cards in order. Eventually, we plan to get two big bookshelves for the bedroom and narrow the books down to the ones we want to keep. Hopefully, the shelves will also have room for the Magic Card binders as well. I haven’t delved into organizing them, but, it seems like a good project for quiet TV time before bed.
I am reminded that I need to try to get my Wii back on the network. We have not used it in ages, but, we pulled it back out and I can’t seem to get it to connect for some reason. I seem to recall it being a super pain before as well. Sigh, Wii, sigh. I’ll have to fuss with it more this week because I am sure there are many cool updates to be had.

I am Returned
April 19th, 2010 Posted 10:39 am
I am back from a long weekend away. It was an excellent weekend! I did not do much gaming, though. I did play Magic against my brother. I used my Horde deck and he used my Allies deck. He doubted the power of my Allies deck, until he won!
I got home and was able to do some dailies in World of Warcraft. That’s all the mental ability I had before it was time for bed. The guild tells me that we will likely be defeating Putricide with NEW TACTICS this coming week.

Leaving on a Vibe Train
April 15th, 2010 Posted 12:33 pm
I drive a Vibe, so, I’m leaving on a Vibe train. I’m going to visit my family for the weekend so I won’t have access to much. Last night, our raid got setback by the login bug that hit. Instead, I finished up my dailies and worked on leveling my mage some more. I got to level 16 from level 14 and can finally see the light in regards to the difficult beginner mechanics for mages.
I’m bringing my magic cards to my mother’s house. Maybe, I can convince my brother to play with me!

Starting Over
April 14th, 2010 Posted 9:56 am
As I talked about before, I started an Alliance mage so I could participate in Gnomeragan stuff a little bit. I already have a mage, but, I moved her to Horde and made her a troll. I completely forgot how hard low level mages are. I realize there are hard classes out there throughout all of leveling. But honestly, low level mages just die a lot and have to run away. I realize that I know this. I remember this now that I’m back here. I remember falling on my face a lot and dying and having to kill stuff until I leveled just that much higher to complete objectives. Maybe, I thought it was a fluke. But, I assure you it’s not. Hopefully World of Warcraft is going to do some things to help mages 1-20. I can’t think that some new player to World of Warcraft rolling a mage is going to stay long when they think it will be like that forever. The problems seem to stem from lacking a specialty. In the talent trees, Mages get more survivability either in mana maintenance/crits/slowing down enemies. But until you get there, you’re master of nothing and it really is difficult.

I Got Punted – A Lot
April 10th, 2010 Posted 10:51 am
Last night, Guild Holiday was another attempt at Serpentshrine Cavern. The mechanic in there really requires some more fear protection and a few more people, unfortunately. If it weren’t for the twenty five man deal, we’d not have any problems with it. We also tried Hyjal, but again, Archimonde’s fear mechanics means we need more fear protection to beat him. Despite not getting either achievement, I had a good time. I’m not sure I miss Burning Crusade mechanics. Without seeing them with on par gear and on par level, I can’t really say. However, besides Karazhan, I was not as fond of Burning Crusade as I feel about Naxx or Ice Crown Citadel. I had just read The Well of Eternity and The Demon Soul. So, getting to see Archimond, it was such a visual for that story. I’m very excited about Cataclysm. I think it will all be tied together there.

Hunter Gear!!!!111one
April 8th, 2010 Posted 10:22 am
Last night, well let’s be honest World of Warcraft hunters, every night is our gear. It doesn’t matter if it’s cloth, leather, mail, or plate. We want to roll on it because we want new stuff. THE MAN, he only lets you roll on agility mail and agility/attack power necklace, bracelets, and trinkets. However, I was fortunate to get the belt drop from Marrowgar. Up until last night, he dropped the sword every time. I was also fortunate enough to have saved up for my second piece of Tier 10 gear. This is my helmet, AKA I am now a Rhinoceros Beetle. The helmet is awesome, don’t get me wrong. However, I am extremely disappointed there is no ‘Use: Impale someone like a rhino’. My Tier 10 bonus at two pieces is to be able to get a bonus to pet/hunter damage with autoshots. After gemming everything I got, my gear score saw a nice happy raise, so, I hope my DPS does too!
