These Forces are Dark

I started playing Dark Forces tonight.  There were a couple of snags.  I could not figure out how to open doors (thanks for the tip on ‘E’).  I could not figure out how to aim up or down (page up or page down).  And the real killer, the contrast on my monitor is dark and in dark hallways I can’t find my way.  I got flustered with it, but, we’re going to adjust the contrast when I try to play again.  I was pleasantly surprised at my ability to shoot at all.  So, the couple minutes I played tonight remembering the controls will make the next time I play much better.

July 4th: Electric Boogaloo

Not much to report as we have been at my parents in Hilton Head since early Saturday morning.  I didn’t even play my Nintendo DS on the way to South Carolina; instead, I slept a lot.  I did spend considerable amount of time reading the first Star Wars: Republic Commando book.  I enjoy it but it is a well-known fact that I like both clones and droids.  There are both in this book so it is really good.  This is my first real Star Wars book read so I’m pretty impressed.  The book is called Hard Contact and centers around a group of clone commandos who have lost their teams and must forge a new one.

I puttered on the Xbox today but I can admit I played Bejeweled.  My brain feels that dead.  If I remembered to save it somewhere I can access it, I will likely read some more Vampire: The Masquerade.  If not, I will probably stare at the MUX screen until I go cross-eyed and pass out.

Happy 4th of July if you celebrate it!  If not, happy Monkey Day.  (I made that holiday up myself.)
