Is this Week Done Yet?

I admit that I’m exhausted this week.  I am ready for a super relaxing weekend and it’s only Wednesday.  In the past two days, I have done very little in regards to anything considered gaming.  I mustered the energy for some role play last night while watching TV.  What would I be doing if I did not want to go to bed at 8 PM?  I really want to level my Feral druid, Mewmoo, to 80.  I have about 90% left to go.  I also want to work on Lego: Indiana Jones.

Tonight, we raid and it will be time to hit Ice Crown Citadel hard!

Weekend of XP

This weekend, I played a lot of World of Warcraft.  I leveled my Alliance Fire Mage to 20 and then went on to level my druid to 79 and my Enhancement Shaman to 69.  I like leveling from the fact that I like watching the characters get new skills and how they use them.  I’ve seen the content before, but, I still find it relaxing to sit down and roll through it on someone new.  Even though it’s old, taking a melee instead of a caster can make it feel different and new.  Mewmoo will be my fifth level 80.  I know that sounds crazy, but, leveling fits a certain OCD where you just keep going +1 for a while until you win bacon.  As such, I seem to have a knack for painlessly grinding up characters.

We finally got some binders, so, I can get our magic cards in order.  Eventually, we plan to get two big bookshelves for the bedroom and narrow the books down to the ones we want to keep.  Hopefully, the shelves will also have room for the Magic Card binders as well.  I haven’t delved into organizing them, but, it seems like a good project for quiet TV time before bed.

I am reminded that I need to try to get my Wii back on the network.  We have not used it in ages, but, we pulled it back out and I can’t seem to get it to connect for some reason.  I seem to recall it being a super pain before as well.  Sigh, Wii, sigh.  I’ll have to fuss with it more this week because I am sure there are many cool updates to be had.

This Week in World of Warcraft

January 6th, 2010 Posted 1:02 pm

The holidays are gone.  I was gone for most of them so I felt like I was playing a bit of catch up when I got back into it.  My hunter has a fair good number of gear upgrades.  I could afford to upgrade my chest piece to T9 from T8, but, I haven’t felt rushed about it.  I’m nearly there, so it’s only a matter of time.  I’m still trying to get the Orca Harpoon from Heroic Halls of Reflection.  I’m starting to believe I can get a better weapon from raiding at this point before I get that drop.  Autoshotmoo has also found 93% of the Inscriptions in the game.  I’m hoping to make that 100% in time for Cataclysm.  Bit by bit, I have been delving into my Exploration achievement and I almost have this one complete.

I started tanking again after a long break since May 2009.  Even in just my T7, it feels like a different game.  Sometimes, I still mess up, but, considering we made it through Regular Halls of Reflection on my level 200 gear…I think it’s not so bad after all.  I got off my butt and did some Jewelcrafting dailies.  I know everything will be replaced in Cataclysm, but, gathering patterns gives me a sense of satisfaction.

Before January is over,  I also want to get my mage one piece of T9.  I realize that stuff falls from the sky these days; this in no way means I’m not going to enjoy it.  Tyrolos also gave me some enchanting supplies.  I’m hoping to get some sweet points of Tailoring and make my Epic Flying Carpet along the way.

Finally, I have the leveling bug.  It was on my Resolution list to level Mewmoo to 80 before Cataclysm.  I’m at 75, so, if I delve into it every chance I get…well, I think it will definitely happen.

The Low Down

Our schedules have changed once more and this has made any sort of routine, including blogging, go right out the door. I’m starting to get the hang of it again, which is a good thing. With World of Warcraft: Cataclysm on the horizon, I’m trying to finish up as many Achievements as I can. Loremaster is the big task and is made more difficult by me switching my main to a Hunter. Starting from zero does have its appeal, since, you get all the achievements as you go. Loremaster is an achievement where you do a certain number of quests in each area and cover a significant part of the Warcraft storyline. When I’m not working on that, there’s the ever looming Argent Tournament, raiding and Inscription Research to keep up with. I’ve decided to level a feral druid. I’ve never successfully done this because the first twenty or so levels can be kind of rough.

AstralMUX is still in the middle of a plot line about the Nazarov Castle. There are still some ends to tie up that will tie into the future in some heavy ways. Essentially, everyone thought the Princess had returned. Instead, it was Demas’ evil sister, Penelope, in disguise. She did some major work on everyone’s fan favorite knight, Bayanai Etath. Right now, he doesn’t even have his memories so it remains to be seen where he will fit into the ever changing world. The face of the rebellion against demons is changing quickly and I’m excited to see what may come out of this. Will the people remain afraid? Will they start to take up arms? I don’t even know.
