Not a Well Day

I might have caught a little virus or something, as, I have not been feeling all that great.  It’s just a general crappy feeling, but by evening I have just been so worn out I can’t function.  Hopefully, I can get enough sleep to make that go away.  So, instead, I had a quiet evening of catching up on Lost with my husband.  Though it took my gimpy self the whole night, I leveled my Death Knight, Leukocyte, to level 62!  I admit that I face roll my Death Knight and the mechanic as created in Wrath seems to elude me.  I just press all the buttons in order on my bar.  From reading the Death Knight changes for Cataclysm, it sounds like they will make them less a frantic button mashing class.  It is true that you pretty much have to manage just so many cool downs and I think that many people can play a Death Knight but not as many can play one well.

Today, as well, they announced the badge changes in World of Warcraft.  Yesterday, I was elated and stunned to find that they were making the loot tables the same for 10-man and 25-man raiding.  Then, this morning, I was surprised to find that they had also altered the badge system into two simple tiers of points.  A Low-Tier, like Triumph Badges, will offer unlimited badges through things like heroic dungeons.  A High-Tier of badges will be limited offerings through raids, daily random dungeons, and weekly dungeons.  What is more exciting is that they seem to be aiming a restriction at how many you can earn a week which seems to be taking the pressure of raiding, running a random dungeon every day, and running a weekly raid to remain competitive.  While these bits of news may not be what everyone is looking for in World of Warcraft, I welcome the changes.

Looking Forward to Patch 3.3

I had thought that my enthusiasm for World of Warcraft had seriously waned.  I wrote before about how I was burned out on running dungeons.  However, Patch 3.3 seems to have renewed my interest.  I won’t give away spoilers here, but, they are doing some things on the mainland that will be worth checking out.  Since Cataclysm was announced, I have longed to be questing again in an area where high levels and low levels mixed.  I wanted it to be easier again to go out and find a guildie who needs help or to go kick the butt of someone Alliance messing with our territories.

Though Cataclysm is still far away, the idea that the world may begin changing over time sweetens the deal.  I might even check out the new Stormrage novel so I can find the purpose of Morrowgrain!

I have been quiet because I was preparing for my trip to Yellowstone, on the trip to Yellowstone and recovering. While I was gone, Blizzcon occurred and I was filled with lots of IMs on all the exciting content. The face of World of Warcraft will be changing with the expansion to Cataclysm. The world will change as well as why and how we equip items. Guilds will have a reason to push further with guild leveling and we even get a new heroic path which is neat. No matter what, Blizzard keeps me holding on for the next big thing. They might not do everything right but they definitely know how to keep people coming back.

I’ve been leveling my Horde hunter pretty steadily and made it to 74! I got a new sword and a savagery enchant. This makes the sword glow red and I’ve never had a character who could make good use of this before!
